Job Description

Join us as an Infrastructure Engineer, Network Traffic Management

  • Well look to you to develop and implement core infrastructure technologies, products and services against our customer and non-functional requirements
  • To achieve a first-class customer experience, youll make sure that our infrastructure technology is engineered to comply with security, availability, resilience, performance and capacity
  • Youll work with colleagues across our bank, allowing you to expand your network and gain exposure for you and your work
What youll doAs an Infrastructure Engineer, Network Traffic Management, youll be managing the creation and maintenance of infrastructure technologies thatre required to meet the needs of our customers, ensuring their alignment to the Chief Technology Offices strategictargets and architecture outcomes. Your top priorities will include:
  • Making sure that the required work in the platform backlog contains detailed acceptance criteria, which ensures that the warranty period is clear and accountable once a system migration is complete
  • Being responsible for the most complex and risk-exposed technical infrastructures
  • Producing and delivering the ongoing management of infrastructure roadmaps, detailing the lifecycles of our technology from new products and versions, through to end of support and retirement
  • Providing operational support to other infrastructure teams in the event of major incidents or complex technical issues
  • Building and leveraging relationships with colleagues across our bank to make sure decisions made are commercially-focused and create long-term value
The skills youll needTo succeed in this role, youll know how your area of expertise supports our customers, from the core development of technology to risk-based decisions. On top of this, youll need a clear understanding of infrastructure layers or stack and a broad knowledgeacross multiple network traffic management platforms. Along with experience of contributing to roadmaps and strategies and working closely with third parties on managing their performance, youll need the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to your peers and management level colleagues and collaborationand stakeholder management skills. Furthermore, youll need:
  • A good understanding of network traffic management technologies, such as F5, Avi and Nginx
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and Agile toolsets and experience of working in an Agile team
  • The ability to relate everyday work to the strategic vision of the feature team, platform and domain
  • A DevOps mindset and great collaboration, automation and tooling skills
  • A background of working in a complex and multi-disciplined matrix team
