Job Description

Infrastructure Engineer - Linux & Automation (Hedge Fund):

  • £70k-£80k + Bonus + Package.

    • Company and role for Infrastructure Engineer: Our client is a market leading global Hedge Fund. They are looking for an Infrastructure engineer, with a broad range of skills, experience and a good understanding of Linux, and Automation technologies as well as ideally some understanding of Storage or Backup technologies and of Hosted and On-Premise system integration with focus on standardisation, achieved with automation and orchestration.Youll be responsible for the support and maintenance of their Linux, Automation and also Storage services, offering leading technologies to enhance and support their business.Deliver excellent levels of service and have a firm understanding on how solutions to deliver aid and develop their growing business. Youll need to understand critical BAU and technology service delivery elements, whilst being innovative and implement new solutions to enhance business performance.Skills and experience for Infrastructure Engineer (Leading Hedge Fund):
  • Extensive exp of RedHat Enterprise Linux Server (7/8).
  • Knowledge of integration of Linux within a Windows environment, i.e. AD/Kerberos.
  • Good exp of automation for cross platform services using eg Ansible, Jenkins or ServiceNow.
  • Good Scripting/Programming skills in either Powershell, Python or JavaScript API’s.
  • Any understanding of Block Storage, Fibre Channel & multi-protocol NAS storage is a plus.
  • Experience in server hardware implementation, maintenance, monitoring and automation.
    • Desirable skills & experience for Infrastructure Engineer (Leading Hedge Fund):
  • Container administration (Docker) - Desirable.
  • Veritas Netbackup 8.x onwards - Operational and architectural experience - Highly Desirable.
  • RedHat Certified System Administrator/Engineer (RHCSA/RHCSE) - Highly Desirable.
  • Data structures in JSON/YAML or other - Highly Desirable.
  • HPE/Brocade ideal storage - Highly Desirable.
  • Infrastructure as Code) with Ansible (HPE Synergy ideal) - Desirable.
  • Current in technology trends and directions.
  • Keen to learn new technology and platforms in an enterprise trading environment.
