Job Description

Role: Infrastructure EngineerLocation: Central London & HybridSalary & Benefits: Up to £50,000 + 40 HolidaysSector: EducationOne of the UKs largest and best-established universities is on the lookout for a proactive and forward-thinking Infrastructure Engineer to join their team to take on a wide range of exciting responsibilities, across infrastructure and projects.Role Overview

  • Monitor the organisations IT platforms and identify areas for improvement
  • Ensure the cloud environment is operating securely and efficiently
  • Act as a key point of contact in managing Azure Virtual Desktop and backups
  • Maintain a high level of security with regards to Office 365 (Exchange Online)
  • Successfully deliver a range of exciting & complex cloud migration and implementation projects
  • Administration tasks through Office 365 admin centres - SharePoint, Teams, Autopilot, Intune
  • Work alongside and advise account managers to lead the technology change process for clients IT systems and infrastructure
  • Act as the key escalation point for all change and transformation processes
  • Act as a senior point of escalation for Tier 1 & Tier 2 engineers, ensuring that issues are resolved in a timely and efficient manner
  • Take a lead on patch management for clients infrastructure, including software and hardware
  • Identify opportunities for processes to be automated
Technical Requirements
  • Azure IaaS & PaaS
  • Intune
  • Exchange and Office 365
  • SharePoint
  • Servers - Windows and virtualised (VMware or Hyper-V)
  • PowerShell or Bash scripting
  • Backups (Veeam, Symantec, or Commvault)
  • Active Directory and Group Policy
  • Networking Protocols - DNS/DHCP/TCP-IP/LAN/WAN
  • VPNs
