Information Assurance Lead required to work with a Government Department. This is an initial 4 month contract, In Scope of IR35, paying up to £500 per day. This is a remote contract until further notice. As an Information Assurance (IA) Lead youll support your business groups Senior Information Risk Owner (SIRO) and Information Asset Owners (IAOs) to ensure good data protection and information assurance practice is followed within your business area. You will monitor data protection compliance and provide the SIRO with the information required to support the attendance at the Information Risk and Security Board in relation to information and data protection risks. You will be the first point of contact for staff in your area in relation to data privacy and information security questions. This includes supporting them in the completion of Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and Data Sharing Agreements, and liaising with the Data Privacy and Governance Team as necessary. You will support staff in improving their knowledge and awareness of Data Protection and Information Security policies, ensuring that adequate training has been provided and undertaken, including in relation to the reporting of security incidents. Key Tasks and Responsibilities:*Act as the main point of contact in their business area for the Data Privacy and Governance Team. *Ensure all Information Asset Registers have been uploaded onto the data compliance tool OneTrust and that updates are made in a timely manner.*Meet with their IAO/s on a regular (ideally monthly) basis to assess and assign risks to Information Assets and ensure steps are taken to mitigate these risks locally, drawing on support from their wider business area.*Act as the first point of contact for staff who are required to complete a DPIA within OneTrust, drawing on support from IAOs and the Data Privacy and Governance Team where required.*Ensure that all staff have completed the annual Responsible for Information Training and, where necessary, make recommendations for additional targeted DPA and Information Security training where a need is identified. *Provide support to Security and Privacy in the delivery of cross departmental security and privacy awareness campaigns. This includes helping to disseminate training and communications materials locally and arranging briefings/stand-ups/team meetings to raise awareness. *IA Leads should ensure that they maintain their own knowledge of Data Protection and Information Security and should be familiar with the Data Protection Policy. *IA Leads should contact the Cyber Assistance Team (CAT) when a piece of technology is being introduced, significantly changed or used in a different way or if you have a question about the security of using technology to do your job.
