A global education and publishing firm currently requires an Indirect Buyer to join them on an initial 4 month contract. This is expected to be made permanent. Based in the Strand although currently working from home. The Indirect Buyer reports to the Head of Indirect Procurement and shall be responsible for supporting each of the Indirect Category Leads with sourcing, stakeholder management, supplier relationship management and helping to establish guided buying channels enabling users to quickly and efficiently order from preferred suppliers.Principal Accountabilities Support the Category Leads to deliver agreed targets Conduct tactical and strategic sourcing projects (including vendor screening) via approved channels and facilitates storage of associated contracts as per agreed processes Execute category plans, preferred supplier lists, sourcing strategies, manage risk, drive innovation and manage key suppliers on behalf of the Category Leads Partner and develop effective relationships with stakeholders - translating business priorities into sourcing initiatives that deliver agreed outcomes Utilise spend analytics to prioritise initiatives and proactively recommend solutions for maximising value Support with the development and implementation of category strategies and sourcing processes across all business units to ensure lowest cost of ownership Deliver measurable savings against agreed targets Work in collaboration with the extended team to drive function wide objectives In conjunction with legal, ensure sourcing contracts protect their interests and drive robust risk strategies whilst promoting sustainability and diversity Establish and utilise network to keep abreast of industry best practice and drive innovationRequirements 3+ years relevant experience Articulate with strong communication, and people skills Experience of both virtual and physical global teams Ability to lead by influence rather than authority when necessary Strong problem solving and change management ability Evidence of managing supplier relationships and negotiating complex third party agreements Natural ability to interact positively with all internal stakeholders across cultures, countries and professional disciplines Able to maintain impartiality and drive business outcomesBenefits£190p.d. + £27 accrued Holiday Pay£255p.d.
