Job Description

Independent Reviewing Officer Are you an experienced Independent Reviewing Officer looking for a new roleLondon Borough of Lambeth are looking to recruit a dedicated Independent Reviewing Officer looking for an opportunity to join a well-structured and organised council. This Independent Reviewing Officer role will be for an initial 3-6 months with potential for extension subject to internal circumstance and your performance.The Independent Child Protection Conference Service provides a vital quality assurance role in safeguarding Children at risk of significant harm in Lambeth. Child protection conference chairs works closely with SWs, families and other agencies to build achild protection plan that is purposeful and safeguards the children.Responsibilities include:

  • Chairing looked after children and young peoples reviews
  • Ensuring the Care Plan is SMART and being delivered.
  • Quality assurance, monitoring and auditing role.
  • Someone who will actively work to improve and maintain the quality of care for all our children and young people.
  • Someone who can apply strong and up to date knowledge of relevant legislation, research, and Government policies in their work.
  • Someone who has the skills to involve the children and young people in their Reviews and Care Planning, as well as involving the carers, professional network and their parents and family members.
  • Chairing complex multi-agency procedures
  • Chairing LAC reviews or Child Protection conferences
  • Safeguarding for Children & Young People
  • Liaising with other professionals
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation
Experience preferred:
  • Post qualifying experience of working as an Independent Reviewing Officer
Minimum Requirements:
  • HCPC Registration
  • 1-2 years post qualifying experience within the UK Social Care industry
  • Enhanced DBS/CRB (we can obtain for you)
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
