Prospectus is pleased to be collaborating with a female-only charity, who provide emotional and practical support to women experiencing domestic violence and/or abuse. A large part of their work is crisis intervention, working with women who require urgent help and face imminent danger. They are now seeking an experienced Independent Domestic Violence Advocate to work as part of their dedicated teamAs our clients new IDVA, you will be responsible for providing high quality telephone and virtual crisis intervention, information, advocacy and support to women and young people referred to the service. You will assess the needs and risks of survivors, and will carry out short-term and long-term risk assessments. You will advise women of their rights and options for seeking help and support from other agencies, as well as making relevant referrals to local authorities and/or other multi-agencies. To apply for this role, you must have significant knowledge of the Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) sector, and the issues relating to it. You will be a qualified IDVA, with extensive experience of working with those with complex and multiple needs. You will be skilled in risk management and safety planning working within safeguarding procedures, and will have demonstrable experience of multi-agency working. Please note this is initially a temporary role, starting as soon as possible. Please also note this role will be based remotely from home (normally based in colocations across the tri-borough)Due to the nature of the role, please only apply if you have a current DBS issued within the last year or registered to the online update service.
