We work collaboratively and cross functionally, boasting a healthy ethos whereby we aim to promote the best version of ourselves and you.In this role you will work with fully fledged Incident Response teams across a traditional working week. There will be instances (in the event of a breach) where its all hands-on deck and overtime is expected, which may include deployment during weekends.Given the nature of this role, this should come as no surprise. Most importantly, expect to work on some of most intriguing and relevant jobs within this sector.A look into the role As an Incident Response Engineer within our Cyber Defence Centre, you will:

  • Assist in the application of technical analysis, helping our clients to understand what happened during a cyber security incident or data breach.
  • Assist in the contribution of high-quality output in a variety of formats, from daily update slides to full technical investigation reports.
  • Work alongside industry-recognised specialists in computer forensics, electronic discovery, incident response, information governance and disclosure.
  • Provide high quality work in supporting the team in the delivery of cyber - relating to prevention, detection, response, and recovery across the control areas of people, process, and technology.
  • Provide support to the wider team as part of the Digital Forensic Group (DFG) Cyber Defence Centre (CDC).
  • Operate in an environment where speed of response is often critical to our clients, you will be constantly innovating and drawing on the very latest technologies.
  • Identify trending cyber threats, risks and vulnerabilities to their environments and provide prioritised recommendations in line with their organisational context and be able to communicate these clearly.
  • Assist in developing our client offerings to ensure quality and value.
  • Assist in evolving our processes and efficiencies.
  • Regularly work from our central London-based Cyber Defence Centre Laboratory.
Knowing youre right for us Joining us as an Incident Response Engineer, the minimum criteria youll need is strong IT background or a 2.1 Degree (or above) in STEM. A passion for cyber security with any relevant IT / Security qualifications will set you apart but please appreciateit is not essential. It would be great if you had some of the following skills, but dont worry if you dont tick every box, well help you develop along the way.Essential:
  • Flexible working with requirement to attend London laboratory regularly and client sites where applicable
  • Background in forensically preserving data from a variety of sources e.g. PCs, laptops, network infrastructure, etc.
  • Understanding of the modern threat landscape
  • Experience in working with industry standard tools, for example, FTK, X-Ways, Volatility, etc
  • Ability to automate tasks through programming or scripting
  • Knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK framework.
