Job Description

Your roleImmigration Enforcement is part of the Home Office and is responsible for enforcing the government’s immigration laws, tackling illegal migration, disrupting criminal groups that exploit the vulnerable and removing offenders from the UK.This work involves shifts and your typical day may involve the following activities:
  • Working with communities and other government agencies to protect and safeguard the vulnerable
  • Gathering intelligence, checking databases and documents, inputting data and writing reports
  • Identifying, arresting, and detaining immigration offenders and conducting briefings, debriefings and risk assessments
  • Visiting and searching people and buildings to collect and record evidence
  • Escorting immigration offenders to overseas and UK-based locations (this may include short-term stays)
  • Driving official vehicles
  • Responding to hidden threats at ports in your region
TrainingWe will provide fully paid and comprehensive training on our Pathway Programme which you will need to pass to enable you to carry out this worthwhile, varied, and demanding role. The training will last for 7 weeks at our Croydon hub and consist of
  • 5 weeks of classroom-based training
  • 2 weeks of Public & Personal Safety Training (PPST) to develop your personal safety skills
You’ll need to
  • Be able to work shifts (including nights)
  • Have a full manual driving licence
  • Have personal resilience and integrity and the ability to respond to challenges in a calm and professional manner

  • From an employment background such as Security Officer, Customer Services, Correctional Officer, Law Enforcement, Health & Safety, the Armed Forces or Emergency Services – however, this is NOT a requirement
