Job Description

. Job title: Business Analyst Location: Barrow-in-Furness, we offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements - please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role. Salary: Circa £50,000 dependent on skills and experience What you’ll be doing:

  • Understand and categorise the near and future needs of the programme, working as a part of creating an overall roadmap
  • Map out and maintain our stakeholders, working closely with various areas of the business
  • Assist in defining the scope and high-level requirements for deliverables
  • Assist in prioritising the most appropriate work items
  • Utilising methods, tools, techniques; selecting appropriately from plan-driven/predictive approaches or more adaptive (iterative and agile) approaches
  • Investigating operational requirements, problems, and opportunities, seeking effective business solutions through improvements in automated and non-automated components of new or changed processes
  • Ensuring requirements are in line with the strategic roadmap, driving a joint business objective across functional areas
  • Dealing with issues, managing resolutions, corrective actions, lessons learned and the collection and dissemination of relevant information
Your skills and experiences: Essential
  • Demonstrated experience of working as a Business Analyst or similar role
  • Good Business Acumen and Stakeholder management
Desirable
  • Practical experience of an engineering or manufacturing business
  • Practical experience of IT roadmaps
  • Practical experience of discovery work feeding into tangible delivery items

The role is in a new area of the submarines business and is at the cutting edge of the business. It is a verylarge portfolio with a large amount of forward work and growth to come.
