Job Description Would you like to help build the pipeline of new construction workers Are you a strong communicator with experience of working across a range of stakeholders Are you a strong project manager who can multi-taskThen this might be the job for you!The South London Partnership (SLP) is a collaboration of boroughs including Croydon, Kingston, Merton, Richmond, Sutton and for this project Wandsworth. The SLP seeks to build on strengths of South London as a place for people to live, work and thrive. One of the innovate schemes formed from the partnership working will be the Mayors Construction Academy Hub. The Mayors Construction Academy Hub will support people and businesses connect to skills, employment and training in the construction sector across south London.In line with SLP current priorities we are looking to support the construction sector in south London through the work of the Mayors Construction Hub. The construction sector is a major contributor to the South London economy and will help the area bounce back after the challenges of the pandemic. Before COVID-19, construction accounted for 5% of jobs in south London and generated some £2.2 billion for the UK economy. Despite the challenges of the pandemic, construction is still forecast to grow, delivering 2,700 additional jobs by 2030.The Mayors Construction Academy Hub Manager will lead the new Mayors Construction Academy (MCA) and will be responsible for the delivery of the programme. The role is a fixed term contract for a year.The Mayors Construction Academy Hub Manager will be required too: Developing strategic relationships across the construction and skills sector in south London Create a coordinated construction training offer more responsive to the labour market and securing a pipeline of skilled construction workers. Monitor and evaluate the performance of the project to ensure that it delivers real impact and brings benefits to residents, businesses and stakeholders.You will have the following skills and attributes: Exceptional communications skills and have in-depth knowledge of the construction and skills sector. Demonstrable experience of forging collaborations between construction employers and providers. You will be solution focused, analytical and have experience of developing innovative construction skills training programmes to meet the current and future needs of employers. Experienced manager who will lead the Hub team and be responsible for delivering the MCA programme targets on time and on budget.
