12 Months Fixed term contractHours: 37.5hrs per weekWe are looking to fill a 12 Months fixed term vacancy (maternity cover), within our Human Resources and Organisational Development department.SHP (Single Homeless Project) is one of London’s leading homelessness prevention charities and a dynamic and growing organisation changing 8,000 lives every year across London - from supporting people in crisis, to helping them take the final steps towards independence and employment.Reporting to the HR Systems and Payroll Manager, the HR Systems and Payroll Officer plays a key role in processing our payroll; enabling SHP to pay its staff accurately for their work to prevent homelessness and transform clients’ lives. As the post-holder you will also provide related services, such as great customer service, query resolution and the production of management information needed for SHP, to manage staff effectively. Acting as a super-user for our current HR Management Information Systems (HRMIS) you will also produce regular and ad-hoc reports on a range of payroll and HR related matters.Challenges and opportunities of the role will be to complete accurate payroll processing each month in line with appropriate controls and standards and to also be part of a small team that will lead on the implementation of a new HRMIS.The successful candidate will need to have demonstrable experience of using a HR or payroll database and sufficient understanding of the key principles of payroll, as well as the objectives and tasks of a HR Department in a service delivery organisation. Other key skills required are the ability to use spreadsheets effectively, the ability to learn new processes and systems quickly and to carry out data processing, report production and data analysis tasks.You will also have effective communication skills with the ability to work constructively with colleagues.
