HR AssistantWe are seeking a proactive individual to join a marine conservation charity, as a Human Resources Assistant.The charity works in places where the ocean is vital to local cultures and economies and committed to protecting marine biodiversity.Role: HR AssistantLocation: Bristol or London, UK (home-based during the current COVID restrictions)Salary: £18,000 (0.8 FTE of £22,500 gross per annum)Hours: Part-time, 30 hours per week (flexible working)Duration: 1 year fixed term contract (with possible extension)About the role: As HR Assistant you will report to the Senior HR Officer and help to develop the Human Resources function and provide administrative support to the HR Team.The team consists of a Head of HR and Senior HR Officer in the UK, an HR Team of two inMadagascar and Operational Managers in Indonesia, Timor-Leste and Belize. You willplay a central role in ensuring internal HR services deliver excellent support tocolleagues, from recruitment to general HR support to the UK and international teams.The organisation is growing rapidly and there will be excellent opportunities for professional development within this roleAbout you: To be successful in the role of HR Assistant you will need to be a problem solver and enjoy developing and improving systems and processes. You will be dealing with confidential and sensitive information, so discretion and sound judgement are critical. You will have excellent interpersonal skills, a collaborative approach and the ability to build strong working relationships with colleagues at every level.You will also bring with you the following skills and experience: Working towards a CIPD Level 3 qualification or equivalent experience Some work experience in either an HR function or a similar administrative role Excellent IT skills with knowledge of MS Office and/or Google Applications Excellent writing and numeracy skills Excellent attention to detailAlthough not essential, experience of working within an international charity would be beneficial, as would a knowledge of Employment law and any of language skills including; Malagasy, French, Spanish, Bahasa, Tetun, Swahili and Portuguese.Other roles you may have experience of could include: HR Assistant, Human Resources Assistant, HR Coordinator, HR Administrator, etc.
