Job Description

Housing Choice Officer

  • Hybrid - you must be able to commute to Stratford, London at least once a week and more initially to be trained
  • £20.25 per hour PAYE
  • £25.28 per hour UMBRELLA
  • Duration:3 months with the view of extension
  • Officers will only be considered if you have a minimum of 24 months experience
  • Northgate experience is essential
  • At least 12 months experience making PVII S184 decisions
HPAS (Homeless Prevention & Advice Service) is seeking a experienced Housing Choice Officer.Working as a Housing Choice Officer, key duties would include providing advice and guidance in line with housing regulations and legislation.Provide a comprehensive, proactive and responsible housing advice and options service in order to prevent homelessness wherever possible, maximising housing options for those at risk of homelessness and those seeking alternative accommodationThis role is only suitable for experienced Housing Advisors fluent in Part VII Housing Act 1996 as amended by Homelessness Reduction Act 2017. We are looking for officers who treat residents with respect and dignity whilst also able to reach prompt and reasonable decisions.Housing Advisors to join the main team on a duty rota basis taking new homeless applications, seeking to prevent and relieve homelessness whilst also accessing as per the relevant legislation PVII Housing Act 1996 as amended by Homelessness Reduction Act2017.Assessments are generally by telephone (though in person where a need).
