Job Description

START DATE: January 2024Job Title: Deputy Manager - Homeless Assessment CentreSalary Range: £17.50 - £22.00 per hourContract Duration: 3 months with potential extensions and opportunity to apply for the permanent role.About the service:Assessment Centres are fast paced services where people are referred in, usually from the street, and rapidly assessed in to appropriate longer term accommodation. The services are short stay, and staff provide wrap around support and liaison with severalexternal partners, including physical health, mental health, substance use and housing. Staffed 24 hours to ensure this quick turnaround, they are a key service in the pathways to ensure people are off the streets and in stable accommodation.About Us:Join our clients dynamic team at their homeless Assessment Centre, they are dedicated to providing high-quality services in a fast-paced environment. As deputy manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing our staff and overseeing the day-to-day operationsof the assessment centre.Key Responsibilities:

  • Directly manage the staff team, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in service delivery.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of a fast-paced assessment centre.
  • Report incidents to senior management and commissioners, ensuring compliance with health and safety guidelines.
  • Foster a culture of high performance and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Develop and manage partnerships with key agencies across London.
To succeed as the deputy manager, you will need to demonstrate the following:
  • Outcome-focused approach to service delivery.
  • Ability to organise the operations of a complex, busy service.
  • Decisive and effective leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to form and maintain effective working relationships with all partners.
  • Direct management experience, overseeing the management of others, and ensuring sound financial management of services.
