Job Description

Positive Employment is currently recruiting an experienced Highways Repairs Operative to work for our client based in Islington. Successful candidate will work as part of a team assisting in the provision of a safe public realm including highways and open spaces, with in the borough for all users. You will be required to drive a non-large goods vehicle.Duties:

  • Repair, clean, install, or removal street furniture, including, road studs, posts, signs, guard rails, traffic counters, etc.
  • Carrying out a range of maintenance and construction work on natural and artificial surfaces such as mowing, sweeping, edging, raking, digging, pruning, turfing, sowing seeds, watering, painting, litter collection and emptying bins etc.
  • To carry out road markings and sign installation works e.g. attach signs using stepladders and tools to signposts, lamp columns, etc.
  • To drive a vehicle to undertake the daily duties and to accept responsibility for the use and condition of the vehicle in accordance with the requirement including the completion of a vehicle-use log
  • Ability to use computer terminals (including hand held terminals) and mobile phones
  • Willing to work outside in all weathers
  • Ability to carry out repeated moderate and heavy lifting
    • Requirements:
  • Must hold a full driving licence and be NRSWA accredited
  • Experience in highways maintenance work
    • Working hours: 09:00- 17:00, Monday to FridayThis is a Temporary role but could possibly become permanentPlease note only candidates eligible to work in the UK will be considered Required skills
