Job Description

Kel-Berg Trailers & Trucks Ltd are a locally based commercial vehicle manufacturer and sales office based in Weston on the Green. Supplying our range of bodywork and trailers to the UK and Irish construction and utility industry. Our site works alongsideour European production site assembling completed body products and preparing new and used equipment ready for delivery.We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced HGV mechanic/technician to work on our used stock who takes pride in providing excellent customer service and a passion for all things HGV related.This role involves:

  • Carrying out routine inspections, maintenance and repairs on all makes of HGV’s and trailers to DVSA standard
  • Carry out maintenance related working using diagnostic laptops
  • Carry out MOT inspections and presenting equipment for MOT test at our own DVSA ATF test lane
  • Liaising with in contractors and suppliers to purchase parts or to arrange other works
  • Onsite repair jobs on customer sites (very rare)
This role would be suited to someone with experience and knowledge of the HGV industry. On the job training or external training will be given to allow you to carry out any jobs correctly.Hours: Monday - Friday 8.00am to 5.00pm (42.5hour week with a 30 minute unpaid break each day) with occasional overtime as and when required.Key requirements:
  • Should have had previous experience and knowledge in mechanics and repair work within the HGV industry
  • Should be able to work as part of a team and also independently as and when required
  • Should be well motivated and be able to follow instructions to ensure jobs are completed on a timely basis
  • Should have a keen eye to detail and be able to work in an organised manner
  • Good understanding of written and verbal English language
  • Car driving licence is a must due to location and lack of public transport to the site
  • HGV driving licence would be beneficial but not a necessity
