Job Description

Helpline Advisor - Home Based - National CharityNonStop are supporting a well known, national Childrens Charity as they recruit for Project Workers to join their Helpline Service.The Helpline was established in October 2020 and has provided a signposting,referrals and therapeutic support to a range of client groups, such as families whose lives have been impacted by covid, asylum seekers and children with respiratory problems. Their most recent service will provide support to Ukrainians fleeing conflict inUkraine.The service operates Monday - Saturday and offer phone, email and web-chat support. As a Helpline Advisor your responsibilities will be:The first point of contact on the helpline for our key stakeholders (children and young people, parents, families,internal Childrens Services Staff, external professionals and multi-agency organisations),Answering and responding to calls on the Helpline from parents, adults, professionals and others and making referrals to the therapeutic support service.Undertakingbrief interventions which are trauma-informed and culturally informed - signposting, giving advice and support where needed Working on a shift basis (including evenings and weekends).Although training for the position will be provided it is essential thatAdvisors have recent, direct experience in working within a social services setting, asylum seekers or child protection. It is essential to have a trauma informed approach and have the ability to work well in a fast paced, multi-agency environment. Fluencyin Ukrainian and/or Russian are desirable but not essential.
