For further informationabout Nomura, visit www.nomura.comDepartment overview:Credit Risk Management, EMEA consists of approximately 20 Credit Analysts who work in one of four areas: Hedge Funds & Private Equity, Financial Institutions, Sovereigns and Corporates. In addition, the analysts are supported by colleagues based in offshoreand nearshore locations and Credit Risk Management middle office staff. The department is responsible for analysing counterparties, assigning ratings, and approving flow and structured transactions. We work closely with colleagues in other areas of risk andin other regions as well as front office and other departments such as Legal, Finance, Operations and Collateral Management. Each analyst is responsible for monitoring and managing exposure to a dedicated portfolio of counterparties.The Role:This is an exciting opportunity for a senior Vice President or Executive Director to join the EMEA Hedge Funds & Private Equity Credit Risk team. Reporting into the EMEA Head of HF & PE Funds, you will support the day-to-day management of the team, assist theenhancement of specialised data analytics and portfolio monitoring tools and actively participate in the onboarding and risk management of Hedge Funds & PE Funds. You will also analyse and challenge structured trading and fund financing activity with thisclient base, working closely with multiple functions and stakeholders across EMEA and the global business.Primary Responsibilities:The candidate will be responsible for independently managing credit risk exposure to Hedge Funds and Private Equity Funds generated by activities including OTC derivatives, securities financing, prime brokerage, loan agreements, and other kinds of bespoke transactions.* Conduct detailed due diligence of new and existing client relationships. * Use expert judgement in negotiating legal documentation and collateral terms. * Approve internal counterparty ratings and limits under delegated authority. * Challenge structured transactions, articulating the credit risk viewpoint to senior management and committees as appropriate.* Display a detailed understanding of the credit risk framework, including relevant exposure metrics and stressing testing.* Contribute to the firms Risk Change agenda and participate in external regulatory and internal audit assessments where necessary.Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required:* Minimum of 10 years experience in managing Hedge Fund and Private Equity credit risk at a major financial institution, including application of delegated approval authority. * Product knowledge of all major derivative instruments and Prime Brokerage products/services with a full understanding their respective risk characteristics.* Understanding of master trading documentation, particularly International Swaps and Derivatives Association (ISDA), Global Master Repo Agreements (GMRA), Futures and Options (F&O) and Prime Brokerage agreements.* Analytical mind set and problem-solving ability with a quantitative aptitude.* Strong verbal and written communication skills.Nomura CompetenciesTrusted Partner* Besides having a high level of expertise as a financial service professional, strive to retain clients trust* Make appropriate decisions in all circumstances to ensure that Nomura will remain a Trusted PartnerEntrepreneurial leadership * Drive change across the organization by predicting change in the environmentCollaboration* Collaborate with different people across the organization, and leverage the diversity to contribute to the growth and profitability of Nomura as a whole organizationInfluence* Drive strategies and clarify responsibilities of ones business area, and motivate others to contribute towards business successIntegrity * Influence others to fully understand the significance and importance of corporate philosophy, professional ethics, compliance, risk management, and code of conduct, and make decisions and take actions accordingly in any circumstancesRight to WorkThe UK Government have taken steps to reduce net migration to the UK by limiting the number of overseas workers coming to the UK for employment.
