Job Description

WANTED! Healthy & Safety Compliance OfficerSalary: £35,760 Temp to PermLocation: c LondonImmediate startOverviewIn this role you will promote a positive Health & Safety culture throughout the organisation and ensure that current Health & Safety legislation is adhered to by creating, implementing, and monitoring Health & Safety policies. You will carry out frequent auditsof organisations facilities and working practices covering all aspects of compliance, working closely with heads of department. Audit findings and subsequent actions will be recorded and closely monitored and managed as required.Duties

  • Provide expert advice on a wide variety of areas such as Fire Safety, construction, safe handling of hazardous substances and all general Health & Safety guidance, across the organisation
  • Provide a quarterly report and analysis on the wider organisation at the quarterly Health and Safety Committee relating to accidents/incidents and testing.
  • Take responsibility for ensuring that the organisation is compliant against all Health & Safety Legislation and guidance - keeping accurate records working closely with the Health and Safety Committee members.
  • Monitor all relevant safety documentation and certification via the organisations permit to work system (including internal and external RAMS, L8, gas safety, PAT, fixed wiring, asbestos, fire systems, LEV, emergency lighting, lifts, hand tools, LOLER,HAVs, MEWPS, towers and ladders).
  • Attend and take an active role within the Health & Safety committee.
  • Oversee risk assessment documentation, highlighting gaps and reviewing the schedule.
  • Audit the companys facilities, identifying defects and Health & Safety issues, record findings and prioritise action.
  • Formal 6 monthly Health & Safety audits with the Head of Facilities & annual external auditors, identifying compliance requirements and actions.
  • Monitor and ensure that all HSE documentation is completed and appropriately reviewed and updated
  • Review and recommend changes to all HSE policies and procedures.
  • Support the Head of Facilities and Events and Facilities Manager at times with Facilities related project administration and procurement of services in adherence with the Procurement Policy.
  • Support with contractor coordinating and supervision
  • Ensure Facilities related stock and equipment and required PPE is available when needed
  • Focal point for the relationship with the PTWS
  • Provide site inductions and monitoring of Health & Safety compliance for contractors working on site.
  • Checking risk and method statements for all contractors working on site.
  • Documenting Health & Safety checks related to on-site plant.
  • Documenting Health & Safety testing and assessment
  • Ensure all documentation, including HSE documentation, is suitable and sufficient in accordance with the Organisations policies and procedures and accurately recorded.
