Job Description

The YMCA St Pauls Group are looking to recruit a Health and Wellbeing Manager to be based in Walthamstow.The main purpose of this role is to deliver day to day management of health and wellbeing services at site and online. To be successful in this role we are looking for someone who can ensure that the service is meeting its strategic goals and objectiveswhile achieving annual budgetary targets and ensuring consistently high quality provision of service and excellence in customer care.Responsibilities and duties include:

  • Responsible for the health and wellbeing team ensuring that enquiries, tours and sales are completed in line with the groups sales processes.
  • Provide management, support and supervision and be responsible for rotas, staff cover, and absence for sickness and annual leave.
  • Support the Lead Health and Wellbeing Manager in increasing the financial performance of the department and adjust the operation and marketing of the service to ensure targets are reached accordingly
  • Support the Lead Group Activity Manager to develop and co-ordinate the group exercise classes, courses and activities timetable on site or online services.
  • Under the direction of the Lead Group Activity Manager and Lead Health and Wellbeing Manager support the delivery of exercise/activity health referral services to support to a wide range of people with pre-existing health conditions such as diabetes, heartdisease to depression, dementia, cancer, post-operative rehabilitation or weight loss
  • Ensure that all team members are aware of their responsibility under the Health and Safety at Work Act and as a result health & safety procedures are fully adhered to.
Applicants should have:
  • An Advanced Gym Instructor (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) or above in a Health and Fitness related qualification that is recognised by REPs or CIMSPA
  • A minimum of 1 years experience in the Health and Fitness sector
  • Experience in managing a fitness/Health and wellbeing service or facility
  • Experience of managing people
  • Able to produce reports and present work analytically
  • Good planning and organisational skills in order to manage a busy and varied workload
