The Health and Safety Department at South Essex College provides strategic and operational support to the College, including delivery of health and safety governance and shared services to our partner college. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join South Essex College forming part of the health and safety team. Reporting to the Health and Safety Manager, you will be required to deliver expert advice ensuring college policies and procedures are implemented across multiple college campuses. Main duties will include: • Ensure all Health & Safety policies, procedures, rules and regulations are adhered to and regularly communicated to staff and conduct regular meetings with department managers to discuss any issues. • Provide a comprehensive and efficient support service to the college shared service provision. • Deliver against team and individual targets and objectives. • Provide a wide range of administrative support using Microsoft and other college safety management systems. • Collate information on accidents reports and investigate where required. • Deliver safety training workshops, manage the online training system for delivery and monitoring the feedback for support. • Support the implementation of internal insurance engineer visits reporting outcomes to department management for action. • Carry out health & Safety inspections and audits using the iAuditor system. • Carry out individual work station assessments providing guidance and support to staff. • Ensure that the college departments have accurate and up to date risk assessments. • Facilitate, organise and participate actively in all health and safety meetings. The experience youll bring to the team • We are looking for someone to join us who will have at least 2 years existing Health and Safety experience. Experience in a public sector role is desirable but not essential • Will have the influencing skills to drive a culture of continuous improvement • Will have effective presentation and training skills • Achieved Nebosh General Certificate in H&S management or equivalent • Excellent communication skills and team working ability
