Are you an experienced physiotherapist, occupational therapist, speech and language therapist, psychologist or dietitian able to lead a team of therapists in the provision of OUTSTANDING elderly careWe are looking to recruit a Head of Therapies to join our large 200+ bed care homes. Reporting to the Director of Care Services this exciting opportunity will be responsible for the overall strategic, operational, clinical and management aspects of the Therapies department.Youll be a source of specialist therapy and dementia care advice to team members and colleagues across departments, with the passion and creative thought to nurture a culture of innovation within the fundamental framework of CQC standards. The post holder will lead in evidence based practice ensuring the highest quality care is provided to all our residents now and in the future.With a brand new care home opening shortly and increasing our capacity by a further 112 residents, the post holder will be responsible for integrating and coordinating the therapy service within the home setting and in collaboration with external care services and stakeholders.Key responsibilities: Leadership and Management of the therapies department Effectively build collaborative relationships with wider MDT, internal and external, to meet the needs of our residents Ensure appropriate communication mechanisms are in place to ensure an excellent experience is had by all those in contact with the therapies team and residents are cared for with compassion Contribute to the growth of Nightingale Hammerson as a Care Home Education Centre and the development of its team members by proactively supporting education, development and Research initiatives. Ensure all appropriate clinical and safety standards are met in line with CQC guidelines, Gold Standard Framework and upholding Safeguarding, Deprivation of Liberty safeguarding at all times. Contribute to the strategic direction of implementing effective therapies to improve the quality of life of our Residents A full job description can be found on our website.Essential requirements are: To be a registered physiotherapist, occupational therapist, speech and language therapist, psychologist, dietitian or registered with other relevant professional registration Experience to work directly with residents/clients as a registered professional Experience of leading and managing a team. Ability to respond in an adaptable and flexible manner. Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of colleagues, relatives and residents in working in a multi-disciplinary environment. Team motivator in order to ensure the provision of the highest standards of care to residents Ability to think strategically, formulate proposals and effectively implement change. Ability to supervise and monitor students Ability to prioritise own workload and that of the Department in the context of competing demands. Ability to contribute to the care planning process and ensure that it is properly implemented, monitored, reviewed and changed in the area of work under the management of the post holder.
