Job Description

I am retained by a client of mine to recruit an exceptional individual to network and drive the growth of their client portfolio. I am working on behalf of one of the top integrated communications agencies in the UK.As Head of Strategy and Business Development, you will drive the firm’s business development strategy working within existing markets and sectors along with identifying new markets. As an exceptional and proven relationship builder you will form new partnerships by networking, stakeholder engagement, client calling and market research.Working closely with divisions and account managers, you will refer new clients to the appropriate colleagues, for them to develop and maintain relationships after the initial sale or engagement. You will manage and provide exceptional client servicing for the initial commercial communications and any relevant upsell of services and thereafter, keep a top line interest in the progress of those clients.You will possess extensive business development, networking and marketing experience, ideally as Head of Strategy / Business Development within an agency or a larger in-house team.Skills and Attributes required:

  • Experience of developing business development strategies
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience of working at a senior level within a Marketing/Integrated communications agency
  • Understanding of behavioural theories and how they apply to communications campaigns
  • A track record of winning client work in a variety of sectors
  • Experience of managing sales targets and budgets
  • The ability to interact with people at all levels within an organisation
  • Decision making skills at senior level and the ability to work autonomously
  • Ideally:
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent, preferably in Sales/Business/Marketing
  • Experience of working in an agency environment
  • Experience of working with business development and account management programmes and processes
