Head of SME - Retail Sector Growth Strategies •Location: London (Flexible working options) • Package: £65K - £85K Circa + Bonus + Bens An excellent opportunity has arisen with a global brand to develop and implement strategies to drive business growth through increased engagement, proposition development and the ideation of solutions that address the needs of small and medium enterprises (SME) within the retail sector now and into the future. Requirements: •Lead the development and subsequent implementation of the SME strategy to grow business revenue by increasing service adoption and retention of existing clients.•Develop an insight-led approach to develop our value proposition, based on qualified industry needs, economic parameters and membership data.•Build strategic engagements with SME influencers, policy formers, relevant associations and culturally aligned communities to drive sustainable growth.•Deliver partner engagement plans, that will activate the partnerships and their associated communities.•Establish and facilitate an advisory group to discover and solve industry needs. •Define the proposition for membership (with associated KPIs), drawing on the appropriate combination of content, partners, training, events and services.•Develop and implement pricing and proposition strategies to attract and retain SME businesses. •Ensure effective collaboration with the solutions team to ensure the adoption of solutions created in line with SME needs.•Ensure that the SME membership requirements are aligned with other key Industry Engagement strategies especially Marketplaces.•Actively promote the SME membership across the organisation.•Work in partnership with the head of membership experience and head of marketing to ensure compelling content and excellent service is offered to our membership to drive engagement and advocacy.•Background and experience•A robust understanding of the dynamics and challenges of a start-up business such as funding, product development, manufacture, marketing and branding, go to market planning, supply chain and routes to market.•Sound understanding of the SME business support community and the relevant issues•Experience of leading small business programmes, focusing on engaging and developing manufacturers of products and brands (rather than professional services)•Experience of establishing long term working relationships with industry stakeholders•Extensive experience of managing and leading teams•Proven ability to work effectively across diverse teams (such as solutions, marketing, membership, consulting, technical and information systems)•Previous experience either working in, or supplying to, one of the core sectors•Experience in helping to drive the implementation of business change to improve business efficiency and effectiveness to better serve the needs of customer•Fully conversant in the key trends affecting SMEs and their communities and able to articulate how the adoption of standards would add value•Experience in facilitating industry groups towards agreed solutions and outcomes •Highly focused on the understanding of stakeholder needs and developing approaches to meet their requirements•A creative mind that will lead the development of programmes and content that will engage the SME audience.
