Job Description

Strategic sales leadership role within our clients Sales and Marketing function, requiring an experienced, credible and highly motivated Senior Manager Team Leader to lead the Technology, Media & Telecommunications team.Youll work closely with the Industry Leader for Technology, Media & Telecommunications Markets to set and execute the sales strategy.Client DetailsOur client is one of the Big Four Professional Services firms and this role sits within the Sales capability, part of Sales & Marketing, our clients centralised support function. This team covers all aspects of professional services marketing, sales supportand business development, the team working together with the clients to execute go-to-market strategy using expertise, talent and assets to drive commercial outcomes for all.This role is Technology, Media & Telecommunications-specific.DescriptionAs the Head of Sales, youll work closely with the Industry Leader for Tech, Media & Telco to set and execute the sales strategy. You will be able to successfully navigate the complexities of a large professional services environment: managing senior stakeholders,spear-heading your strategy and working collaboratively across the Sales & Marketing function to achieve success. You will be driving a client-centric mindset and inspire your teams to achieve account management and business development excellence, improvingwin rates and helping the business build deeper relationships. Reporting to the Director of Industries, the role will also work alongside the Head of Marketing for Industry to co-create the go-to-market strategy and the resulting plan of action.

  • Create and execute the Industry based sales strategy and work collectively with the Head of Industry Marketing to provide a seamless Sales and Marketing go to market strategy
  • Have a clear strategy for relationship development and account penetration of the Board accounts within Industry portfolio
  • Own the active pipeline management for the Industry, supporting on the identification of Must Win opportunities and their inclusion in the firmwide programme
  • Lead the embedding of relationship insight from across the Industry board portfolio into Must Win identification and wider opportunity qualification and support
  • Act as a specialist adviser to the Leader of Industry on the sales response to key market drivers, providing strategic analysis, support, and challenge on the required sales dynamics to create a successful sales platform within the Industry
  • Sustain an advanced knowledge of the Industry and sub sector markets, their key drivers and expected trends and a view of the key stakeholders within the client portfolio
  • Collaborate as a member of the Industry Sales and Marketing Leadership Team, aligning common activity and strategic issues with other areas of the business including through your global industry network
  • Ensure there is an effective forum for the Industry community to share client insight, opportunity and pipeline themes and trends and wider thought leadership
  • Lead the aligned Business Development team and ensure the team is providing best practice support to both the sector and Industry, to drive campaign excellence and robust pipeline management, through the introduction of powerful Industry based insight.Role model best practice sales behaviours across the wider sales capability, including collaborating across and within account portfolios, and supporting pursuit excellence alongside the bids and proposals team
  • Lead, with the Leader of Industry, on key industry bodies to drive opportunities through engagement plans
  • Work with the sales capability leaders to design and deliver a programme to support the development of a sales culture within the Industry
  • Play a leading role as a senior member of the Sales capability in Sales & Marketing, working closely with the capability leadership team
ProfileExperience of creating and activating strategic plans and leading teams is vital. A proven track record of delivering a broad mix of sales enablement programmes and/or account management is also necessary. You will need to be a role model with the abilityto coach, develop and inspire junior team members to become highly effective market specialists, whilst at the same time acting as the specialist sales adviser to the Tech, Media & Telco Industry Leader.
  • Senior Manager Team Leader Level
  • Effective management of senior stakeholder relationships and client-focused with strong relationship skills
  • Proven track record in business development, sales and client relationship management - it is essential that you come with an understanding of Tech, (&/or) Media (&/or) & (&/or) Telco, gained from having worked in & across the area in your career to date
  • An expert understanding of sales enablement programmes and sales support plus an understanding of targeting and opportunity management with the ability to implement both strategic and tactical initiatives
  • Strong knowledge of Pursuit or another relationship/sales methodology and proven experience in driving opportunities through to revenue
  • Accomplished sales coach - pursuit experience would be advantageous but not essential
  • Strong project and bid management skills as well as strong people management and development skills with experience of managing and developing teams
  • Ability to form networks with partners and staff at all levels and influence effectively
Job OfferOur client is looking to pay north of £70k up to c.£95/100k dependant on experience with bonus and OTE to be discussed at interview.
