A. Job PurposeTo lead, manage and develop the RS and PSCHE curriculum to achieve high quality of teaching, effective use of resources and the highest standards of learning and achievement for all pupils.B. Responsibilities To teach consistently great lessonswhich bring about excellent outcomes for students Set the strategic direction for the RS and PSHE department. Ensure a high quality of leadership within the RS and PSHE department. To develop links with external agencies including local churches and mosquesand to help engage our students in RE. To develop and implement strategies for improving teaching and learning in RE and observe RE teachers. To ensure your teaching is of a consistently high quality and your outcomes are exemplary and in line with KPIs Towork in partnership with colleagues to ensure there is support in developing their knowledge, practice and skills To regularly observe and develop colleagues and act as a beacon of best pedagogical practice To ensure you are up to date with national and internationalcurriculum developments To seek opportunities to collaborate with other academies, innovative and high achieving schools through Oasis Community Learning and other relevant networks to share and develop excellent pedagogies. To develop and monitor schemesfor work for PSCHE across the whole school and ensure successful implementation which meets curriculum requirements. To lead training and support sessions for non-subject specialist staff delivering PSHCE sessions To develop citizenship education curriculumto help pupils be model citizens, contribute to their communities, be informed so they can participate effectively in UK elections, and understand key issues affecting the world. To work closely with the Senior Leadership Team, SENDCO and Safeguarding Leadto ensure that the PSHCE curriculum adequately prepares students to live safe and fulfilling lives both during their time at the school and beyond Ensure that the PSHCE curriculum confronts and tackles the challenges facing students in our school communityTo take responsibility for the delivery of SRE across the school. To support staff in delivery of PSCHE sessions where necessary To collaborate with other school leaders to write, implement, monitor and evaluate a PSCHE policy which incorporates SRE, mentalhealth awareness, physical health etc. To encourage staff to form links between PSCHE and other areas of the curriculum. To attend necessary courses and workshops regarding the PSCHE National Curriculum Develop relationships with external agencies, charitiesand religious organisations to improve and develop the curriculumWhole Academy Responsibility To assist the Principals in fulfilling the academys vision and instilling the academy values in all that we do To assist the Principals in the implementation ofthe Self Evaluation Form and Academy Development Plan Any other responsibility as set out by the PrincipalC.
