Job Description

Head of Property Client Accounts - London - £65k - £70kThe role:This role will encompass the management of team of 3 and would be reporting to the Managing Director and Finance Director. You would be charged with developing best practice in client accounting and service charge procedures as well as ensuring compliancewith RICS rules and oversee any RICS regulatory reviews. As this role is integral to the ongoing success of the business you will also be part of the bid team to prospective clients.Duties:

  • Hands-on activities taking ownership of some client accounting relationships.
  • Client statements of income and expenditure on monthly/quarterly basis as required.
  • Financial reports in accordance with Management agreements.
  • Upload and reconciliation of service charge budgets.
  • Payment of service charge and landlord Invoices.
  • Input of new lease information from lease summary on to property management system.
  • Raising rent, service charge, insurance and other tenant ad hoc demands.
  • Processing tenant receipts and rent transfers to landlords.
  • Monthly bank reconciliations
  • Liaison with management surveyors regarding tenant receipts
  • Preparation and maintenance of service charge schedules of budget against spend.
  • Assisting management surveyors with setting service charge budgets
  • Preparation and management of the service charge reconciliations and invoice balancing charges.
  • Distribution of service charge reconciliation packs and insurance documents to tenants and clients when required.
  • Liaison with auditors regarding service charge.
  • Liaison with third party utility company to monitor utility bills.
  • Maintain data held on Database by liaising regularly with property managers, clients and tenants.
  • Liaising with clients and solicitors in relation to preparation of completion statements for new lettings, property purchases and disposals.
  • Preparation and maintenance of property cashbooks.
  • Maintaining accurate records and filing all relevant material in storage systems.
  • Liaison with internal teams regarding implementation of property repair plans.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working in a Client Accounts Team Leader / Head of Accounts function within Real Estate.
  • Experience in reconciling service charge accounts.
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and property management systems are essential.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Able to demonstrate the ability to effectively work within a team environment.
