Job Description

Jensten Underwriting are recruiting for a Head of Property and Casualty to strengthen its senior leadership team and technical capability, following the internal promotion of the incumbent into a new role. You will be inheriting a strong team and taskedwith building on the sound foundations laid to drive growth, innovation and fantastic outcomes to customers.Following a stellar year since the launch of Jensten Underwriting that has culminated in being awarded 5-Star MGA status by Insurance Business UK, we are seeking to recruit this key role as we look to build on the success and drive our ambitious growth strategiesforward in this key specialism.We are seeking a leader to provide reliable and expert advice to the business in relation to the underwriting standards & philosophies required for maximising the balance between underwriting profit & organic growth across the Property and Casualty portfolio.Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent Jensten Underwriting in dealings with capacity providers, brokers & internal business divisions in all matters related to underwriting activity
  • Contribute to & work towards delivering the Wholesale long term strategic vision for capacity management & MGA status
  • Review and direct the underwriting standards framework across the Jensten Underwriting portfolio
  • Review & understand performance figures and work with pricing and other business areas to implement tactical action where required
  • Direct changes to underwriting rule sets as necessary
  • Review and update policy wordings and warranties as appropriate
  • Work with Product Development/Operations to review and update underwriting elements of IT product specifications
  • Identify requirements for underwriting training across the group
  • Work with the Head of Binder Control to review & implement underwriting audit recommendations
  • Keep up to date with developments in the market and introduce new concepts and initiatives as applicable
