Job Description

Key duties of the Head of Private Banking will include;

  • Managing the London team Private Bankers who report into the Head of Business Coverage
  • Managing the London Credit Team who report into the Credit Director
  • Managing the London Investment & Real Estate Team who report into the Head of Investment and Real Estate
  • Managing the London Services Team
  • Managing the London Banking Services Team
  • Overall performance of London Private Banking and Banking Services business segment
  • Originating, closing, and developing profitable client relationships whilst safeguarding the standards of the Bank and adhering to FCA regulatory requirements
  • Marketing a range of private banking services and products to existing and potential clients and effective maintenance of existing relationships
  • The incumbent will attend the Branch Risk Committee (BRC), the Asset & Liability Committee (ALCO), the London Investment Risk Committee (LIRC) and Financial Crime Working Group (FCWG) on a monthly basis. The incumbent is also a member of the UK ExecutiveCommittee, which also meets on a monthly basis.
To be considered for this position, ideal candidates must have the following experience and skills;
  • A minimum of 10 yearsexperience within similar business or related areas
  • Has wide ranging, extensive international experience Private Banking with a minimum of 10 years experience in a private banking business development role
  • Possesses investment qualification evidencing appropriate knowledge to undertake the role specifically the FCA certification entitled Securities Certification
  • Is conversant with the full range of Private Banking services, including trusts, asset management, banking and advisory services
  • Possesses in-depth knowledge of the various dimensions of the market / industry. Able to apply this understanding in business analysis and planning
  • Possesses good understanding of the policies and their implications. Interprets policies and can provide guidance and clarification to those involved in implementation
  • Presents, interprets and clarifies complex information (non-routine and qualitative) in one-to-one and group situations to convey variety of messages in a compelling manner
  • Can structure and prepare complex guidelines, proposals and reports involving presentation and synthesis of diverse information in a logical and compelling manner.
  • Is culturally aware and possesses market intelligence of Middle East and GCC markets required to develop business and to be well perceived in the market place.
  • Able to structure a network through the market conducive to client acquisition and identifying new business opportunities
  • The jobholder needs to be an excellent communicator, sound team player and net worker within the organization, encouraging regular interaction with Private Banking team in Head office
