HTA is the national independent regulator for organisations that remove, store and use tissue for research, medical treatment, post-mortem examination, teaching and display in public in addition to providing approval for organ and bone marrow donations fromliving people. With the interests of the public and those HTA regulate at the centre of their work, they aim to maintain confidence by ensuring that human tissue is used safely and ethically, with proper consent.Reporting into the Director of Data, Technology & Development, the Head of Policy is an exciting and highly rewarding role, which provides real opportunity for growth and development within an agile organisation regulating a fast-changing sector.This position would be well-suited to an individual who can operate in a strategic leadership capacity, developing a team, whilst also being able to operate in the detail of the subject matter. A background working within health / life sciences and/or regulationwith exposure to working in/around government would be highly advantageous in addition to strong research skills and ability to draft convincing submissions.Some key areas of focus for the Head of Policy position include:
