Head of Project Management OfficeVenturing into new businesses and opportunities beyond their conventional business and markets. The aspiration for the group is To be among the leading corporations in energy and related businesses globally and one of the worlds top 10 global utilities by2025. As part of its ambitious expansion plans, the business recently acquired two Ready to Build solar projects in the UK, with a combined capacity of 102MW. The projects also include an option to develop 65MW of co-located battery energy storage systems (BESS).The solar farms are expected to enter commercial operation in Q3 2023/Q1 2024 and will provide stable long-term revenues through 15-year Contracts for Difference (CfD) which were awarded in July 2022. Contracts are currently being placed with a number of thirdparties for construction and commissioning and, in parallel, growing its team to manage the successful execution of these projects Head of Project Management Office is required for a dynamic and highly successful international Renewable Energy company to work on an exciting 169MW mixed Solar and Battery Ready to Build Project.We are looking for a highly motivated and passionate individual with exceptional Project Management Skills to manage an exciting Ready to Build Project that will contribute towards company strategy of growing its renewable energy portfolio.Responsibilities of this Role: Direct internal project governance activities, and conduct program and project reviews Oversee the execution of the project and ensure that internal project team members are carrying out their tasks efficiently while upholding business values and standards Work with the wider project management team to ensure formal notices and any other documents are issued to/by the Contractor in line with the requirements of the contract Develop and maintain Project Management Methodologies to make sure there is full transparency of the project. Manage overall document control system and raise any omissions/non-compliances with contractors and internal teams Receive documents from contractors and share with any relevant members of the project execution team and wider company team Use strong technical and business acumen to identify and manage risk and address relevant hurdles. This will include managing the project risk register Provide regular updates to the Project Steering Committee and other key stakeholders as required, including financial reports and budget outlines on the project Ensure project cost is being monitored and controlled Work closely with Project Managers, and take charge of all internal levels of project management throughout the project lifecycle Enforce project management consistency and standardise processes across the internal project team, as well as upstream and downstream connections with the broader organisation Coordinate and manage any additional resource requirements for the project Ensure that project team integrate well with the EPC Contractors and that knowledge, experience and insight is leveraged well Work with the Head of HSE to ensure that the project team work in a safe way and in compliance with legal requirements Provide constructive feedback to effectively improve the performance of the internal project team Help to develop the internal project team competencies with a view beyond the project lifespan and considering business long-term needs in the process Build trust-based relationships with stakeholders (internal and external) Keep up to date with the latest requirements and legislation around the RE sector particularly in relation to permitting regulations, new environmental regulations, and ensuring development best of breed solutions to mitigate project risks; Skills and Qualifications: Fluency in English Bachelors degree in a relevant discipline 7+ years relevant experience ideally with exposure to the UK renewable energy sector Understanding of and passion for Renewable Energy Sound experience in managing the full life cycle of project development Highly organised with good attention to detail Good communication skills Experienced in document control system and running, managing, and maintaining risk register Ideally, training and certification in Project Management, e.g. PMP, Agile, etc. Excellent documentation and communication skills, articulate and concise Experienced in conflict resolution, within the team and with external third parties e.g. EPC Contractors Driving license and ability to travel Strong leadership skills and excellent organisational skills High EQ and excellent stakeholder management skills Able to foster an environment of challenging each other, creating maximum transparency and find solutions to facilitate optimised decision making and value creation. Ability to drive the mind-set of project management excellence in order to enable all team members to contribute value and do their work efficiently.
