Job Description

Head of Platform (Data)Remote (UK)Up to £90,000 + benefitsThis is an exceptional opportunity to join a progressive and fast-growing small business that provides highly sophisticated insights to businesses within the biomedical sector, helping to drive innovations and developments of the future. Continued growth and success now requires a Head of Platform to join the senior management teams and to be instrumental in defining the long-term vision of the IT infrastructure.Role Responsibilities include:

  • Drive the long-term strategic vision utilising: Google Cloud, Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, Terraform, Elasticsearch, Python, JavaScript and others
  • Be an active member of the leadership team
  • Oversee day to day operations of the platform building and maintaining data platform, API and web application
  • Lead a team of talented data scientists, back and front-end engineers
  • Lead continuous infrastructure analysis, optimisation and consolidation
  • Be a driver of a positive DevOps culture, setting best practices across the Company
    • The Ideal Candidate:
  • Proven track record (7yrs+) professional software delivery with extensive knowledge of development lifecycle, building and maintaining complex pipelines in various enterprise level CI and CD software
  • Superb experience with Linux, Python, Java and Bash
  • Experience of Google Cloud Platform
  • Team management and leadership experience and ability
  • Able to contribute to the overall growth and vision of the Company
    • Additional experience desired includes:
  • Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform, Garden and experience implementing Kubernetes-native applications
  • Experience maintain database and data warehouse technologies
  • Skilled in Infrastructure as Code practices, including infrastructure testing and immutable infrastructure
