Job Description

Are you a seasoned pensions professional looking to head up the pensions department of a complex establishment Could you confidently provide leadership and guidance to a small team Looking for a role that offers exposure to Trustee-level stakeholders andthe opportunity to be at the forefront of several high-profile projects If yes, look no further!This well-established charitable organisation are currently seeking a Head of Pensions to join their close-knit team on a permanent basis. Based in London and reporting into the CFO, you will be responsible for managing a small team across all things pensions,including strategic development of the schemes, in addition to leading on some exciting upcoming projects.The key duties of this Head of Pensions role are as follows:

  • Oversee the day to day running of the pensions department, ensuring all processes are fit for purpose and driving a culture of efficiency.
  • Take the lead in the production of quarterly performance reports to the Board.
  • Be at the forefront of the development and implementation of the Pension’s strategy for the organisation, rolling out new initiatives across the organisation.
  • Review the current pensions procedures and processes, ensuring they are fit for purpose and making recommendations on areas for improvement within the system to enhance efficiencies.
  • Full responsibility for signing off payroll on a monthly basis and managing the cash position to ensure payments can be made without delay.
  • Have critical oversight of all things governance for the charity, from sorting papers and setting agendas for Trustee meetings, to coordinating sign off on the financial statements from the Board.
This full time Head of Pensions role will officially be based out of the charity’s head office in London however flexible working from home will be on offer. Furthermore, this is a brilliant role that offers the genuine capacity to shape the future architectureof the pension function, whilst also boasting exceptional exposure to senior stakeholders and Trustees, so it is certainly not an opportunity you want to miss!The successful candidate will have:
  • Preferably, a formal pensions qualification.
  • Demonstrable experience of managing and producing leadership to a team.
  • Experience of managing at least one pension scheme (ideally a DB scheme).
  • A strong understanding of all pensions admin processes.
  • Ideally, experience working in the non-profit sector, but this is by no means essential.
