Head of Legislation Strategy and CoordinationDirectorate: RegulationFixed Term Contract until May 2024Salary: £64,810Location: London The Electoral Commission is the independent body which oversees elections and regulates political finance in the UK.Thisis a period of significant change in electoral law. The UK Parliament is considering the Elections Bill, which will make changes to the way elections are run, and the way political finances are regulated. The Senedd is also considering changes to the law undertheir powers over the coming years.Job descriptionWe are looking for a Head of Legislation Strategy and Coordination to deliver strategic leadership and coordination of the Commissions response to and implementation of this legislation. Working with teamsacross the Commission, the post-holder will ensure a clear strategic approach is followed during the parliamentary process and secondary legislation through to deliver of the implementation of new laws. The post-holder will represent the Commission externallyand need to maintain senior-level relationships with UK Governments and other senior stakeholders. The post-holder will lead the Legislation Strategy and Coordination Team, and be a member of the Commissions Senior Leadership group.Role requirementsTo besuccessful you will need to be able to develop strong working relationships with existing Commission teams across the UK. You will need experience of designing and delivering programmes of work through a project structure, and a good knowledge of parliamentaryand legislative processes. You will have a strong commitment to delivering results, and be able to manage risks at a strategic and operational level.
