Job Description

Head of IT Operations/Head of ITType: PermanentLocation: Central LondonAn exciting and rare opportunity to join a global charity based in London. As the Head of IT this individual will manage and lead a team to maintain the efficient operation of network, infrastructure, hardware and critical services globally.The chosen candidate will need to be an exceptional leader who not only has a breadth of technical understanding but also strong people and stakeholder management skills. Alongside this you will have experience of managing large IT Budgets and also workingwith third parties/vendors.This is a key leadership position for the organisation and such requires someone who can set operational direction and deliver excellent IT Services, and who has a proven track record of doing this in global organisations.Key Skills/Experience

  • Broad technical knowledge in networks and infrastructure, Cloud, SaaS, IaaS and workplace productivity tools (preferably Microsoft Azure and Office365)
  • Experience of IT methodologies and processes such as ITIL, agile, scrum, DevOps
  • Strong technical knowledge of operational infrastructure (Azure Virtual Data Centre), devices (Dell laptops/ desktops) and networks (switches, firewalls, wireless, VPNs) telephony (Mitel)
  • Extensive application support experience gained from managing platforms such as websites, CRMs, finance and human resources, learning management and specialist tools used for research
  • Experience in IT infrastructure planning and development.
People and stakeholder management experience
  • Experience of commissioning services from third parties and managing relationships with suppliers and contractors.
  • Ability to translate organizational direction into specific team and individual job expectations, managing performance through effective monitoring, coaching, and feedback
  • Experience of leading teams of highly technical professional specialists, translating organisational direction into specific team and individual job expectations through effective coaching, performance management and monitoring
  • Experience of leading service delivery around applications, Cloud, websites etc in a multi-office global environment
