Job Description

A global professional body is looking for an experienced Head of Internal Communications on an initial 12-month contract, paying £95,000 - £100,000.Reporting into the Director of Culture and Communications, this role will have responsibility for leading a respected team of five, whilst developing the strategic communications offering across the organisation. The post holder will partner closely withsenior leaders to support the communication of strategic priorities, key transformation initiatives and business performance.A objective is to drive the drive communications capability across the organisation through the introduction of innovative communication channels, and self-service tools - enabling strong change, team engagement and authentic two-way dialogue. Working withthe business and the team, the successful candidate will get to shape and drive the implementation of this approach. An exciting agenda at an exciting time.Responsibilities:

  • Leading the Internal Communications team,
  • Build the reputation of the function as a trusted business partner and centre of expertise
  • Acting as internal communications business partner to the CEO, executive team and leadership group - advising on best practice, and ensuring consistent and impactful leadership visibility
  • Oversee the development and delivery of impactful internal communications campaigns, with a focus on the organisations strategic priorities and major programmes of work
  • Driving innovation and best practice in the organisations approach to internal communications.
Experience:
  • Must have led an internal communications function within a high-profile international organisation, with line management responsibility for communications professionals
  • Track record in the development and delivery of internal communications strategy
  • Extensive experience of leading internal communications as a workstream within complex change programmes
  • The ability to think strategically and to contribute, challenge and present at a high level
  • Outstanding communicator - both written and oral - with the ability to interpret and summarise content in an inspiring way, and ensure consistently high quality output to strict deadlines
  • A highly motivated, proactive and enthusiastic individual who can build rapport and credibility quickly with the executive team, senior leaders and teams across the organisation
  • Demonstrable leadership skills, with the ability and judgement to identify issues and areas of concern, and identify solutions in the best interests of an organisation
