Our client is a compelling independent global media organisation, challenging power and encouraging democratic debate across the world though high-quality journalism. Reporting to the Editor in Chief, you will join the team during an exciting period of growth. You will lead a step-change in the overall impact of openDemocracys major investigations and stories, as well as growing openDemocracys brand, and you will spearhead impact strategy development. You will work closely with multiple teams and manage internal learning, training, and impact planning with the purpose of building increased knowledge, skills and confidence among the openDemocracy team. Last but not least, you will develop and engage with our clients strategic network nurturing relationships with multiple external stakeholders.To be successful, you need to be genuinely passionate about openDemocracys mission to challenge power and inspire change and will have a bold vision for how their major stories and investigations can have deeper impacts which serve their mission. You will be an impact-focused enterprising individual with a proven track of success in relevant areas such as journalism, broadcast media, media, campaigns, policy, communications, advocacy or activism. The ideal candidate will have a blend of experience in hands-on and strategic work: from writing press releases to securing major partnerships; from leading internal culture change on impact to organising diverse groups of people to campaign and/or make their case publicly.
