Job Description

Head of HR - Retail or HospitalityLocation: UK remit including homeworkingSalary: £70-90,000 + benefits The Head of Human Resources is both a strategic and hands-on role that provides full cycle Human Resources support to our Clients UK wide retail operation. The role is critical in executing people initiatives, providing great internal customer support,and driving HR functional excellence and process improvement.The Head of HR is a key advisory leader who acts as a consultant to the retail business leaders at the National, Regional and Store level on Talent Strategy, Workforce and Organisational Management, Program Delivery and Diversity and Inclusion. They willpartner closely with the other Human Resources Business Partners to ensure alignment on the organisations strategic goals that will drive our key results in the areas of talent and development across the region and deliver on market-specific programs andneeds. You will make recommendations, decisions and empower the business to manage and develop their talent. you will communicate effectively to champion initiatives that support strategic goals of the business and promote consistency, reduce risk and engagetalent to grow, develop and exceed Key Results.The role:Talent Management: Responsible for aligning business objectives with talent strategy. The Head of HR develops a strong knowledge base of their business partners functions and business objectives. They maintain an effective level of business literacy aboutthe businesss financial position, its culture and its competition.Develop and deliver an aligned business unit human capital strategy by leveraging the broader Talent strategy and COE tools.Monitor and utilise internal/external trends with key metrics, and partner with Centres of Excellence, and business leaders to reframe challenges and identify solutions through the lens of talent and employee experience.Support holistic bench strength analysis and succession planning processes, in partnership with Directors and Store Leaders and HRBP.Leverage and apply talent analytics and insights with business leaders.Workforce & Organisation: Oversee workforce planning and various activities that support organizational design work including engagement strategy and action planning.Monitor workforce planning efforts (forecasting, skills development, optimisation of resources, partnership with TA) to align organisations business strategy to its talent strategy and ensure that each business unit has the right skills at the right time.Monitor financial implications of labour needs / changes and tracking adherence to the workforce plan.Partner with Employee Relations on escalated matters and coaching to the business.Program Delivery: Collaborate with COEs and Business on strategic delivery of various programs.Partner with Talent Acquisition COE on Employment Value Proposition and Brand Ambassadorship.Participate in assessment panels and participate in the talent selection process for critical Regional and Store Leadership.Partner with business leaders on employee engagement strategy and action planning.Streamline communication from leadership level to store level to yield the most favourable adoption of new initiatives, policies, and concepts.Inspire a culture of celebration, appreciation and recognitionDiversity and Inclusion: Ensure the integration of D&I within day-to-day practices that cultivate both a diverse and inclusive workforce, in which all individuals have equal access to opportunities and resources. Coach and develop leadership competency inD&I.Lead, prioritise and communicate with each business leader the importance of encouraging appreciation for diversity in all its forms by regularly including D&I in their agenda.The person:Degree educated or equivalentStrong career trajectory in human resources gained in a large, complex Retail or Hospitality business.The ability to understand business goals and recommend new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in business objectives, productivity and development of HR within the companyThe ability to create a vision and goals for a HR team and inspire and motivate the team to achieve excellence in terms of customer support and core HR processesA true strategic and hands-on approach as well as the ability to successfully monitor the "pulse" of the employees to ensure a high level of employee engagementExperience with rapid and complex changing work environmentPassion for innovative HR solutions and process improvement; Demonstrated experience driving processes improvements and specific skills in Kaizen methodologies preferredAdvanced project management skills; ability to lead projects at a network level to influence and obtain buy-in, and then drive execution and achievement of the right resultsSuccess in creating and driving effective and positive employee relations, retention and reward programsThe ability to be comfortable with high volume workload and not be afraid to "roll up your sleeves"Stellar internal and external customer service focusThe ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously - orientated on resultsExcellent organizational and interpersonal skillsDemonstrated success in stretch assignments that are evidence of superior performance in previous rolesPrior experience leading, coaching, and mentoring direct reports and leading HR teams with talented HR professionalsAbility to travel as needed throughout the UK within your scope and to London for meetingsStrong consultative mindset and project management skillsOutstanding business acumen and analytical skillsTo apply please email your CV
