Job Description

I am recruiting the Head of Group Planning for a client which will IPO in Q2, 2022. This is a brand-new role reporting to the Group CFO and as such the Head of Group Planning is a pivotal position in a newly FTSE listed business - managing planning, budgetingand forecasting across the Group, whilst implementing, developing and improving systems.Duties and Responsibilities

  • Drive the planning, budgeting and forecasting process across the Group.
  • In depth financial trend analysis. Interpret and analyse results and articulate recommendations which will drive the business forward and ensure financial targets are achieved (comparisons to budget, re-forecasts and prior year).
  • Monthly, quarterly, annual and long-range financial planning and budgeting processes for revenue, margin and overheads etc.
  • Ensuring insightful commentary for internal reports (including the management pack) that highlights future risks and opportunities that can be leveraged to deliver the targets.
  • Identify risks and opportunities to the business performance and latest forecast.
  • Drive the implementation and development of new forecasting and planning systems and processes; ensuring that processes are robust and streamlined, utilising automation as much as possible.
Skills and Experience
  • Technically capable qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, ACMA, or equivalent) with proven FP&A experience ideally gained within large, complex businesses.
  • Strong leadership profile. Advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, confident presenting to senior internal and external stakeholders, providing technical and commercial support, comfortable challenging senior leaders of the business.
  • Process improvement, implementation of new planning tools i.e., Anaplan, Power BI, Tableau etc.
