Head of Financial & Activity Modelling – Whipps Cross Redevelopment The largest investment programme being undertaken is the redevelopment of the Whipps Cross Hospital site into a healthcare and health and wellbeing campus that is fully integrated with the local health economy requirements. The Trust has four acute sites (Royal London Hospital, St Bartholomew’s Hospital, Newham University Hospital and Whipps Cross University Hospital) and one community site (Mile End Hospital). Whilst there has been recent capital investment at three of the sites, the estate at the Whipps Cross site is old with a significant level of backlog maintenance. As a result, the Trust is looking to completely redevelop the Whipps Cross site. The scheme has passed the Strategic Outline Case stage (SOC) and support has been given to commence preparation of the Outline Business Case (OBC).The primary focus of this role will be the Whipps Cross redevelopment, with a total forecast capital outturn cost of £926 million for the emerging preferred option. But the breadth of the scope of the role encompasses the wider remit of all the Trust’s significant capital investments due to the importance that investment decisions consider fully the wider health system and new ways of delivering healthcare to the local population. As a designated scheme within wave 1 of the Department of Health and Social Care’s (DHSC’s) health infrastructure plan (HIP1), the role provides the post holder with the opportunity to work with a breadth of organisations across the NHS, including with partners on the new Whipps Cross Strategic Partnership Board – including, by definition therefore, healthcare and social care partners in NE London – DHSC and NHS England / NHS Improvement (NHSE/I) to explore funding opportunities and to address affordability challenges. For further details / informal visits contact:NameNicola HowesJob titleProgramme Support OfficerEmail addressnicola.howes@nhs.netTelephone number
