Job Description

About the role:A small charity that aims to improve lives is currently searching for a Head of Finance to join their team!This is an exciting opportunity to lead the finance function, maintain strong financial controls, and contribute to the charitys strategic goals.The organisation is offering up to £65k and great benefits, and this hybrid role involves 3 days a week in the London-based office.Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and maintaining all necessary systems, policies and procedures to ensure effective and efficient financial management, ensuring they are in line with statutory regulations and legislation
  • Producing and presenting financial reports to the Leadership team, Board level, and committees to inform decision making and measure the charitys impact
  • Producing the annual budget and forecasts
  • Managing governance and ensuring best practice, managing the risk register and alleviating risks when required
  • Leading a small finance team, line managing and developing a junior team member
The successful candidate:
  • Fully qualified accountant
  • Demonstrable experience in the following:
    • Financial management
    • Business partnering
    • Producing reporting for Board level
    • Senior leadership
    • Line management
    • Confident systems and Excel user
    • Conveying complex information to non-financial stakeholders
    • Charity sector experience and an understanding of SORP
  • A team player with a hands on approach and an ability to work collaboratively and build solid rapport both internally and externally
