Job Description

Are you an experienced, mid-senior finance professional looking for a new challenge do you have a strong track record of developing high-performing teams in line with organisation goals Do you want to work for a dynamic organisation in a varied role thatoffers brilliant exposure to a wide array of areas If yes, look no further!This vibrant social welfare charity is exclusively partnership with Robertson Bell in their search for a new Head of Finance role on a permanent basis. Reporting into the Director of Finance and managing a team of five, you will be responsible for the dayto day running of the finance team, holding oversight across all things transactional, financial accounting and business partnering, whilst also being a key member of the wider leadership team.The key duties of this Head of Finance role are as follows:

  • Deliver the consolidated annual budget, pulling together data across all departments and grants, adopting a bottom-up approach.
  • Hold critical oversight of the reforecasting and managements accounts processes, consolidating all data for presentation at senior management level.
  • Manage the finance team, spotting any responsibility gaps and driving solutions to ensure the team are working as efficiently as possible.
  • Deputise for the Director of Finance in the production of Board packs and attendance in committee meetings as required.
  • Take the lead in the coordination of the annual audit, ensuring any queries are responded to and data provided in a timely manner.
  • Work in close partnership with the Director of Finance in the production of the statutory accounts.
  • Attend monthly leadership team meetings, driving progress against strategic goals.
This is an exceptional opportunity for someone with an established background at a senior level of a finance team who is looking to step into a more varied role, that offers exceptional exposure to board and committee level stakeholders. Furthermore, theroe will officially be based out of the organisation’s office in South London, but opportunities to work from home will be on offer for two days per week.The successful candidate will have:
  • Achieved their full accountancy qualification or be qualified by experience.
  • Ideally, a background working in the charity sector, but this is not essential.
  • Demonstrable experience of working at a senior level whilst managing and developing a team.
  • The capability to build excellent working relationships with Executive level stakeholders.
  • A strong work ethic and brilliant interpersonal skills.
