Job Description

About the role:Goodman Masson are delighted to be supporting Help Musicians in their search for a Head of Finance to manage their finance team, lead the delivery of the financial planning, controls and reporting, and provide financial insight.This is a fantastic opportunity to join the leading UK charity for musicians of all genres! They exist to support musicians during times of crisis and opportunity, giving people support during crucial stages of their career, both in work and in retirement.Along with the rewarding nature of the role, Help Musicians are offering up to £65k + a generous pension contribution and great flexibility with hybrid working between home and the London Kings Cross office. The organisation are also open to discussingpart-time options.Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the Finance team, ensuring team members receive appropriate support and feedback to ensure that they are able perform to the highest level and carry out tasks in a timely, accurate manner
  • Developing and maintaining all necessary systems, policies and procedures to ensure effective and efficient financial management, ensuring they are in line with statutory regulations and legislation
  • Publishing financial reports to the Leadership team and Finance & Audit committee to inform decision making and measure the charitys impact
  • Ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting of information to the external stakeholders of the charity
  • Leading in the annual budget, ensuring it meets long-term objectives and is aligned with the charitys three-year rolling strategic plan
  • Supporting with system implementations and development projects to ensure continuous improvements made to systems and processes are designed to meet the needs of the team/organisation
The successful candidate:
  • Fully qualified chartered accountant
  • Solid, proven experience in:
    • Financial management
    • Senior leadership
    • Providing financial support in small/medium sized organisations
    • Statutory reporting
    • Systems implementations
    • Building positive working relationships with key stakeholders
    • Effectively/persuasively communicating complex information to non-financial stakeholders
    • Charity sector experience is desirable
  • An encouraging, proactive problem solver with a solutions-focused mindset and an ability to work collaboratively
