Job Description

Gateway Housing has been supporting communities to thrive since 1926. We are an ambitious London based housing association with over 3,000 homes in the heart of Londons East End. We provide social rented homes, shared ownership, and sheltered housing. Wedevelop new homes too and are part way through an exciting programme to deliver another 250 homes by 2025. We also run our own in-house maintenance service, Gateway Homeworks. As a community housing association based in the East End for nearly 100 years, were proud of the work we do to address the housing crisis through building and managinggreat homes.We are looking to appoint a Head of Finance to manage efficiently and effectively the Finance functions to ensure that high quality management and financial information is provided for the Association.You will be required to assist in managing the financial resources of the Association in a way which achieves the main corporate objectives and value for money whilst minimising the exposure to risk. Youll work closely with colleagues to coordinate anddeliver our ambitious and be a key member of the Leadership Team.We are looking for a highly motivated individual person who can match our ambition for the organisation. So, you will be someone who has a positive, can-do attitude to lead the Finance team, who can model our values and have a desire to make a difference.Your duties will include but not be limited to:

  • To ensure effective leadership and management of staff and resources promoting team building and collaborative working to deliver the corporate plan
  • To be a member of the Leadership Team, working with colleagues to contribute to the development, implementation and review of Gateways corporate strategies, annual project plans, policies and procedures. To report at least quarterly to Leadership Teamon control assurance within areas of responsibility and contribute to overall compliance and governance reviews
  • To work with internal audit as required and ensure that recommendations are implemented promptly
  • To lead on and manage the preparation of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts, ensuring they are prepared within the agreed timescales
  • To ensure efficient and effective transaction management is maintained for rent, service charge and other income streams
  • To ensure that efficient and effective payment services are maintained, ensuring the Associations suppliers and partners are paid in line with agreed terms
  • To ensure efficient and effective operation of the Treasury Management function, including liquidity, covenants compliance, debt, interest rates and investment management, managing bank accounts in accordance with the approved Treasury Policy Statementand Annual Treasury Strategy of the Association
  • To ensure accounting records and accurate financial information is maintained for capital and development transactions in compliance with the relevant accounting standards
  • To act as an administrator for the Associations insurance claims, liaising with internal and external contacts.
  • To provide a business partner service for colleagues providing and monitoring financial performance.
