Job Description

Our Contingent Workforce Solutions (CWS) service acts as an extension of our clients recruitment team and provides professional interim and temporary resources.Our client is a well Known Corporate and Institutional banking organisation with headquarters in Central London and several other global locations; Providing Finance and Risk Solutions as well as Trading and Flow Sales to global financial institutions, investors, counterparties and corporate customers on a day to day basis.On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for a Head of FC Risk Management (Deputy) for a 3 month contract based in London.Purpose of the Role:The purpose of the role is to provide holistic oversight of pan-bank financial crime risk management, governance and reporting and to formally deputise as required to support the SMF17 and SMF7 regulated accountabilities of the Director of Financial Crime Risk and Group Chief Financial Crime Risk Officer.The role will require strong communication skills to provide proactive and effective financial crime risk management, governance, reporting, oversight and challenge across all areas of the bank to ensure compliance and within appetite for all financial crime risks. The role will also support the DOFCR/CFCRO in external stakeholder engagement, including regulatory dialogue.As a Head of FC Risk Management (Deputy) you will be responsible for:

  • The role holder will require an excellent understanding of financial crime and financial services to ensure a robust framework is in place to manage and mitigate financial crime risks across the bank.
  • They will deliver robust enterprise-wide holistic financial crime risk management assessments, efficient and effective governance (e.g. evidentiary inventory of artefacts and trackers) and specialist reporting (e.g. Group MLRO report and papers) and testing and monitoring to facilitate effective SMF7 and SMF17 oversight.
  • The role will support the DOFCR/CFCRO in the leadership of the wider Financial Crime Risk team, as well as providing leadership, development and motivation of the Risk Management team and non-UK MLROs directly.
  • The role will also support external stakeholder engagement, including regulators, government, industry and law enforcement.
  • As a member of the Financial Crime Senior Leadership Team (SLT) support the execution of the Financial Crime Strategy.
    • What we require from the candidate:
  • Demonstrate in depth industry knowledge and commercial awareness of Financial Crime Risk and risk management principles.
  • Recent senior level responsibility and experience in comparative role
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of Financial Services and the impact of financial crime regulation and legislation.
  • Strong understanding of deploying pan risk strategies across the customer lifecycle.
  • Excellent stakeholder management externally and internally, with evidence of influencing and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proven ability to convey complex concepts in a clear and concise manner to potentially diverse audiences.
