Job Description

Stylus is seeking a Head of Events to lead the strategic development and delivery of Stylus in-person and digital events designed to engage and inspire our audiences. The role will be responsible for developing an end-to-end event strategyand playing an integral role in the successful execution of events utilising both in-house and freelance resources as part of the wider marketing team. The candidate will be a highly experienced and motivated events professional with the capacity for bothevent execution and strategic and conceptual planning. Working collaboratively with the commercial and content teams to maximise opportunities across the company.About StylusStylus is the expert source for trends and insights.   • Develop and drive the strategic vision and plan for Stylus in-person and digital events for both lead generation/brand awareness and member engagement/retention globally.
  • Working with thought leaders across the business to develop creative ideation and concepts for events.
  • Lead on event management planning and logistics and be heavily involved in the operation of events.
  • Understand our core audiences and personas and build event plans around engaging with those audiences.
  • Be aligned to the commercial targets of the business and ensure that there is a clarity of success measurables against the event channel.
  • Proactive management of the budget, forecasting, business planning and forward scheduling of events.
  • Working in alignment with marketing campaign teams and channel managers to ensure effective use of marketing channels.
  • Accurate and timely reporting identifying maximising areas of opportunity and rectifying areas of concern.
  • Implement delivery and execution processes for both in person and online events and constantly measure and optimise for success.
  • Maintain up to date resourcing plans and co-ordinated scheduling across all functions event by event.
  • Ensure the infrastructure and process management tools are in place for successful delivery and expansion.
  • Be close to the market by building strong links with industry stakeholders.
  • Recruit, set up for success, coach and retain a motivated team.
  • Help to define a joined-up marketing strategy as part of a senior marketing team and the broader senior management team in the business.
Required Skills and Qualities
  • A minimum of 7 years of event management in a B2B environment.
  • Strategic vision to develop and implement inspiring and commercially driven events to maximise the life span and reach of Stylus trends intelligence.
  • Management experience with recruiting an active freelance network, managing and mentoring a permanent team, and being responsible for team performance.
  • Communicating and influencing ability to help build internal relationships and buy in to an overarching events strategy.
  • Effective collaborator, working with subject matter experts and spokespeople to deliver content presentations through events.
  • Multi-task oriented and effective project manager with desire to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-starter, challenger, strategic planner, analytical thinker.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Adept at building relationships internally.
  • The successful candidate will be a self-starter; this individual must be adaptable, persuasive, tenacious and perceptive and be able to execute a well-developed plan.
