Job Description

Interim Head of Early HelpBased in London, hybrid workingLength: 3-6 monthsInside IR35A London Borough is looking to appoint a Head of Early Help. The successful candidate will lead the strategic development of the service, including building relationships across the partnership. You will ensure consistency and a joined-up approach acrossthe borough to working with families, children, and young people with additional needs.Key Responsibilities of the Interim Head of Early Help:

  • Provide leadership on the development of robust recording of impactful practice across the borough, as well as in each of its locality-based hubs
  • Work closely with Commissioning to identify needs across each of the three localities and address gaps in provision
  • Lead on the development of the three locality Best Chance Family Hub and Locality Based Forums to develop integrated working, across the wider Early Help partnership and supporting local community and children and family engagement
  • Drive and fully embed the delivery of the practice standards and the new CARES Practice and evaluation Framework within the Targeted Early Help Service
  • Oversee the allocation of work from the ‘front door’ and for ensuring an effective interface between early help and specialist teams or universal services
  • Directly mentor and supervise Service Managers and other staff as required in line with supervision guidelines
Skills, experience and knowledge required of the Interim Head of Early Help:
  • Looking for a candidate who can demonstrate experience and success at this level
  • Knowledge of Targeted Early Help Services
  • Proven experience of successfully developing and managing a variety of internal and external partnerships
  • Able to work at pace and juggle multiple priorities
