Data Engineering/ Head of Data Description: Data Engineer with a strong technical back ground and data engineering expertise, with a growth mind-set & a dedication to technical leadership, developing strategy & driving the direction of an engineering team.As an Data Engineer, you will collaborate within a team of enthusiastic, talented, hard-working application developers and be able to effectively communicate with the wider business and 3rd party suppliers. You will work on building new applications and integrationswith our existing SAAS and in-house application suite. In this position, you should be using the latest standards to write functional, durable code and deliver quality products to the business, whilst also highlighting any potential risks. As part of the role,you will support the wider team, and perform thorough code reviews to identify basic technical and logical errors, to uphold good code practices. In this position, you should be able to work independently with little supervision and reporting to a technicallead. To align with the business incentive to be technology-driven, using the latest AWS technologies to deliver cloud-first solutions. Main Responsibilities:Research & development in support of new data/AI based offerings.Leading & delivering solutionsusing a range of analytical tools & technologiesDevelopment of innovative prototypes to bring creative business solutions. Key SkillsProven technical leadership, setting direction, vision, & strategy for teamTechnical know-how of ETL Tooling & Streaming& how they fit with cloud technologies , & delivering data engineering solutionsMainframe understanding & specifically with scheduling capabilityKnowledge of containers at scale: such as, AKS/GKE, Knowledge of microservices/service mesh, cloud nativesolutions from cloud providers, ideally AWS.
