Job Description

My client is an established dynamic fast growing investment company providing innovative services to retail customers and SME’s. The current Head of Compliance is leaving the industry and they are seeking someone experienced to assist the company in growth phase.The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a relatively new company to help grow the brand and guide the board from a regulatory perspective, using your knowledge and experience to help formulate strategy, propose solutions and manage risk.Working with the board you will be required to hold SMF16 & 17 and manage all aspects of compliance. As the business grows they envisage the compliance department also growing.Duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Providing regulatory advice on multiple projects and new product launches from an industry wide and commercial aspect
  • Advise the business on regulatory requirements and potential changes following best practice
  • Awareness of key rules and regulations, including market abuse, trade reporting, advisory and discretionary management, Best execution requirements, CASS Oversight requirements
  • Strengthening the Compliance Framework and ensuring a robust monitoring regime
  • Oversight of Financial Crime
  • Build a strong relationship with the regulators
    • The ideal candidate will have:Previous experience of holding a control function or very comfortable to be registered with the FCA as SMF16, SMF 17,
  • An interest in online businesses and Fintech, good general industry awareness
  • Experience of working in financial services, ideally in D2C investment management
  • Experience of market abuse, best execution and the MiFID II requirements and sound knowledge of international expansions, investments and pensions for UK investors
